Oak Tree Meadow

We are a small quiet family farm site set in a beautiful natural environment. Deer, badger and fox are regular visitors to the farm and you will see and hear many species of birds including hawk, owl and buzzard.

Our peaceful, spacious meadow is a perfect place to pitch your tent on the level well mown grass, relax and enjoy the exploring the New Forest area.   We also have 4 hardstanding pitches with electric hook up that will take motorhomes up to 8 meters.  Regretfully we are unable to accept groups exceeding two units with a combined total of 4 adults and 4 children.

Our toilet and shower facilities are not as posh as the large commercial campsites but they are fully functional and we pride ourselves on keeping them spotlessly clean and fresh for our guests needs, they are open during July and August.  The Paddock has free unisex toilets and hot showers in separate cubicles, chemical disposal point and outside dish washing areas.  In addition to our main toilet block we provide portable toilets and hot showers in Oak Tree Meadow.  We also have a fridge for campers to use (not available during Covid).  The Paddock shower/toilet areas and chemical disposal point is accessible via 6 steps.  Our Toilets and Showers close on 4th September and from that date we only accept motorhomes and caravans with their own bathroom facilities, chemical and grey water disposal points remain open along with drinking water and outside wash up areas.

Dogs are most welcome (maximum 2 per pitch), but must be kept on a lead at all times and not be left unattended in units.  Owners must clean up after their dogs and deposit waste in the bins.  A dog walk runs adjacent to the site.

The train that trundles past the site during the day (not all night) gives visitors a great car free break.  Dogs and bikes can be taken on the train giving good links to explore local forest / costal villages, larger towns such as Southampton and Bournemouth or even the Isle of wight with a great cycle track from Yarmouth to Freshwater.

The peaceful enjoyment of our farm and its surrounding natural habitat is very close to our hearts and is dependent upon the courtesy and consideration of all our visitors.  As a small quiet family holiday farm we do not tolerate inconsiderate behaviour.  We ask that all light and noise pollution be kept to an absolute minimum.

Friendly owners, spotlessly clean and a handy fridge in which we were able to store more than we usually would as campsite was quiet and temperature was 29 degrees. Tranquil and pretty location, handy for walking into Sway and the train station (not that we used it but would be a great convenience if staying longer than a weekend). Normally we stay at "family friendly sites" with kids play areas etc, but this site was a good price including the electric hook up (which we'd have to normally pay extra for). Although our kid was the only one on site at the weekend (this is very unusual!) he still liked the site which is high praise indeed! I like the fact that they don't accept groups because even though i am sure this costs the owners business, it meant that our stay wasn't ruined by loud and obnoxious neighbours with their friends which has been our experience on some of the other sites that we stayed at. Basically if you want clean facilities, convenience, pretty surroundings and tranquility you can't go wrong here. The train noise isn't too intrusive and if you bring ear plugs for night time you won't hear a thing. Our 8 year old slept through from 9pm - 8am. Ps: try the Brockenhurst Bangers from the local butchers, they're top notch!
